The Commodores are an American funk and soul group, whose most successful period was during the late 1970s and early 1980s when Lionel Richie was the co-lead singer.
They have sold over 70 million albums worldwide, including 15 studio albums and 39 singles spanning between 1974 and 1993. The group's biggest hits include the ballads Easy, Three Times a Lady and Nightshift, as well as the more funky Brick House, Fancy Dancer, Lady (You Bring Me Up), and Too Hot ta Trot. Out of nine nominations, The Commodores won a Grammy Award for Nightshift in 1986. The Commodores and The Pointer Sisters have announced a co-headlining North American tour for the summer and fall of 2024, entitled 'An Evening of Icons.'
