The Shins are an American indie-rock band from Albuquerque, New Mexico, currently consisting of frontman and founding member James Mercer, alongside Yuuki Matthews, Mark Watrous, Casey Foubert, Jon Sortland and Patti King.
Formed in 1996, the band released their debut album, ‘Oh, Inverted World’ in 2001, which contains the singles Caring Is Creepy and New Slang, both of which appeared in the 2004 film Garden State’. Their second LP, ‘Chutes Too Narrow’, came out in 2003, followed by ‘Wincing the Night Away’ in 2007, 'Port Of Morrow' in 2012, and their latest LP, 2017's 'Heartworms'. The Shins will celebrate the 21st anniversary of the release of their debut LP with an extensive North American tour in summer 2022.
