Thousand Yard Stare are a British Britpop band from Slough, Berkshire, consisting of singer Stephen Barnes, Dominic Bostock on drums, guitarists Giles Duffy and Kevin Moxon, and bass player Sean McDonough.

Formed in 1989, the band released their debut EP, ‘Weatherwatching’, in 1990, via Stifled Aardvark Records, followed by their debut album, ‘Hands On’, in 1992. Their second album, ‘Mappamundi’, was released in 1993, before the band split. They reformed again in 2015, and played Nottingham Rock City Wake Up Indie Alldayer and Shiiine Weekender in 2016.

Having headlined their own shows and tours and have supported the likes of James and Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, alongside an appearance at Reading Festival.
