Winger are an American hard rock outfit hailing from New York City, New York. Formed in 1987, the band consists of frontman and bassist Kip Winger, guitarists Reb Beach and Paul Taylor, multi-instrumentalist John Roth, and drummer Rod Morgenstein, and they were one of the most popular heavy metal outfits of the late 80s/early 90s.
Earning themselves a deal with Atlantic thanks to their early demos, Winger would release three studio albums in their first run, breaking into the Billboard 200 and taking home a platinum copy of their self-titled debut. Despite the demise of their genre and the band itself, Winger have survived a couple of splits and break-ups to continue to live to this day.
