Wrexham Association Football Club was founded in 1864 by members of Wrexham Cricket Club who wanted a sporting activity for the winter months. Based in Wrexham, Wales, they are one of the oldest professional association football teams in the world.

Wrexham's home stadium, the Racecourse Ground, is the world's oldest international stadium that still continues to host international games. The club's main rivals are Chester, with matches between the two referred to as the Cross-Border Derby.

Wrexham's main honours include winning the Welsh Cup a record 23 times, and the Football League Trophy in 2005.
