Akercocke are a British extreme metal band from London, currently consisting of Jason Mendonca, David Gray, Paul Scanlan, and Nathanael Underwood.
Formed in 1997, they released their debut album, ‘Rape of the Bastard Nazarene’, in 1999, which led to the band signing with Peaceville Records and releasing ‘The Goat of Mendes’ in 2001. Their third album, ‘Choronzon’, which came out in 2003, was released by Earache Records and followed by ‘Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone’ in 2005. ‘Antichrist’, which came out in 2007, was the band’s last album before they announced their disbandment in 2012. The band reunited in 2016, with their latest album, ‘Renaissance in Extremis’ set to be released on August 25, 2017 via Peaceville Records.
