Chris Thile is is a mandolinist, singer-songwriter, composer and radio personality from Oceanside, California.
He began his music career as a member of the Grammy-winning progressive folk trio Nickel Creek in 1989, with whom he went on to put out six albums. He has also dabbled in several other projects while also releasing eight solo records – his most recent, 'Laysongs', arrived in 2021. Chris Thile plays shows in Bristol, Manchester and London in November 2025, while he's in the UK for London Jazz Festival.
