Occasional actor and heavy-duty rock‘n’roller Meatloaf has announced a winter UK tour, with the star confirming seven shows at some of the biggest arenas in the country.
Since the late 1970s Marvin Lee Aday, better known as Meatloaf, has been an uncompromising force in rock. Initially starting out as an actor in a theatre production of the musical ‘Hair’, Meatloaf went on to become one of the biggest chart acts of the 1970s.
Weighing in at well over 300 pounds, rock’n’ roll singers didn’t come much bigger or better than Meatloaf. With the addition of his famously powerful voice, Meatloaf was a force to be reckoned with and the singer's 1977 ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ teen rock-opera album went on to be regarded as one of the most epic rock records ever made.
The album, which spawned the three Top 40 singles ‘Two Out of Three Aint Bad,’ ‘Paradise by the Dashboard Light’ and ‘You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth,’ catapulted Meatloaf to superstardom and became one of the best-selling albums of all time, even outselling Michael Jackson’s massive ‘Thriller’ album.
Announcing his live return to the UK with a tour of some of the biggest arenas in the country, Meatloaf will hit the road this November and December for a seven-date jaunt. Kicking-off in Cardiff on November 29th, the tour will stop at Bournemouth, Birmingham, London, Manchester and Sheffield before concluding in Newcastle on December 14th.
Meatloaf will play the following UK dates:
November 2010
29th Cardiff International Arena
December 2010
1st International Centre, Bournemouth
5th LG Arena, Birmingham
7th Wembley Arena, London
9th MEN Arena, Manchester
11th Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield
14th Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle
