After admitting that the split from Oasis was ‘the best thing that’s ever happened’, Liam Gallagher has gone on to announce that his new band, ‘Beady Eye’, will “blow people’s heads off”.
The star hasn’t made short work of advertising his new band, which contains 3 other ex-Oasis members, ahead of their February 2011 release date of their debut album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’. But he has also stated that although the band is a whole project, he won’t stray from his Oasis origin.
"I'm not singing any different than I did in Oasis -- I'd like to think I'm singing a bit better than that. It's just rock 'n' roll -- the Beatles and the Stones, you know? I haven't gone dubstep or anything. It'll get compared to Oasis but I don't mind. I think we've got a lot of energy that we might have lost in the later days of Oasis."
It’s not surprising they have already been compared to Oasis – the band consists entirely of ex-Oasis members - Liam, drummer Chris Sharrock, and guitarists Gem Archer and Andy Bell.
Liam is also said to be excited at the chance to play intimate, small venues with his new band – this coming just days after he played a surprise gig in a pub in Stockford.
