McFly will be headlining an exciting new outdoor event, ‘Music on the Hill’, which is being organised by Demelza Hospice Care for Children and The Children’s Development Trust. The event will take place over three days from Friday 24th June to Sunday 26th June 2011.
One of the country’s most popular stars, Katherine Jenkins will be bringing classical music to a wider audience and will perform with the National Symphony Orchestra on the first evening, Friday 24th June. Fresh from five sold-out intimate UK dates in October 2010 to preview their album 'Above The Noise', McFly return to what they know: playing to huge audiences in massive arenas. Their UK tour kicks off in March (details below) and having recently conquered colossal venues around the world, McFly are excited to perform their infectious and soulful electro-pop at Music On The Hill on Saturday 25th June. Sunday 26th June will be a Demelza Summer Sunday, a family day with great entertainment, children’s activities and a food festival.
‘Music on The Hill’ will take place in a dedicated arena at Kings Hill and will offer an opportunity to enjoy favourite artists in informal surroundings. In addition to a great musical experience, there will be high quality food and drink which will be locally sourced where possible.
100% of the profits from the event will be donated to Demelza Hospice Care for Children, which cares for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Kent, East Sussex and South East London, and to The Children’s Development Trust, which helps children and young people up to 18 years of age achieve their potential through personal skills, education, sport, health and well-being. It is particularly close to Demelza but has assisted young people around the UK and internationally.
