US singer, songwriter and producer extraordinaire Raphael Saadiq will be stopping off in the UK to perform at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 28th April 2011.
One of music’s most highly regarded recording artists and producers, Saadiq is set to release his fifth studio album 'Stone Rollin’' in the US in March 2011. The album includes new singles 'Stone Rollin’' and 'Good Man', and celebrates the classic sounds of 60’s and 70’s soul with a futuristic twist.
Since the release of his last album ‘The Way I See It’ which earned him a staggering 3 Grammy Nominations, Saadiq has been touring across Europe, the States and Asia. The critically acclaimed album, which featured the likes of Stevie Wonder, Jay Z and Joss Stone, was also selected by iTunes as their ‘Album Of The Year’ in 2008.
Having started out in the late 1980’s as a member of the ground-breaking R&B group Tony! Toni! Toné!, Saadiq then went on to form the highly successful trio Lucy Pearl in 1999 alongside En Vogue’s Dawn Robinson and A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammed. The R&B Supergroup went on to have commercial hits 'Dance Tonight' and 'Don’t Mess With My Man'. Throughout his career, Saadiq has also successfully produced for the likes of Mary J Blige, John Legend and TLC.
