Seattle-based folk duo Thousands have announced details of a 9-date tour of the UK and Ireland in March and April. The tour will follow the release of the pair’s debut album ‘The Sound of Everything’, which comes out on 21st March.
Thousands, who are made up of Kristian Garrard and Luke Bergman, spent time travelling around the Pacific Northwest states of Washington and Oregon looking for “interesting or inspiring places to record to offer something with a real sense of place.” The recordings took place in a number of varying locations including Luke's family's cabin on the Oregon coast, the banks of the Columbia River, abandoned barns and old farmhouses.
Speaking about ‘The Sound of Everything’, the duo said: “We want people to listen to this with headphones on and feel like they're immersed in these locations, and there's us, sitting next to you, playing a song.”
Thousands’ music has already drawn comparisons to fellow Seattle artists and Bella Union labelmates Fleet Foxes.
