Death Cab For Cutie Announce UK Headline Shows & Tickets

American indie-rock band Death Cab For Cutie have announced a trio of UK headline shows for July.

Rabidly independent Death Cab For Cutie - who took their name from a Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band song - are one of the genuine American underground successes of the millenium. Refusing to play the corporate game, they have a huge cult following due to the almost pathological desire to tour back and forth across the US.

Death Cab For Cutie return to the UK later this year to support Foo Fighters at their massive sold-out Milton Keynes Bowl gigs this summer. While in the country, Death Cab For Cutie have decided to use the opportunity to take centre stage and play some of their own headline shows.

The Washington-formed four-piece are expected to release their highly-anticipated new studio offering 'Codes and Keys' on May 31st. The forthcoming album has been described by frontman Ben Gibbard as "a much less guitar-centric album than we’ve ever made before". Death Cab For Cutie plan to release the album's lead single later this month.

Death Cab For Cutie have announced the following UK headline shows:

Manchester Academy – 4th July
Rock City, Nottingham – 5th July
O2 Academy Brixton, London – 7th July
