Jessie J made her first major mark on the American music scene this weekend as she performed two tracks on the hugely popular show 'Saturday Night Live'. The singer gave two impressive performances on the live show, which is watched by millions of US viewers every week.
The Essex-born singer performed current UK Number Two ‘Price Tag’ with the assistance of collaborator B.o.B and also gave an energetic rendition of album track ‘Mamma Knows Best’. Fans were quick to comment on her powerful vocals, standing out against other female singers who have chosen to lip-sync on the show with an impressive ad-libbed vocal display.
Jessie J also claims to have become the first performer ever to have been booked on Saturday Night Live without an album out in the US. Her debut ‘Who You Are’ is not set to be released in America until April 12th.
The singer followed-up the performance by showing her appreciation on Twitter, saying: “I am so in a space of 'omg wow' right now. I'm the first artist to ever be booked on SNL before having a album out. Thank you for believing in me :) USA I'm coming for ya”
