Lee Evans, one of the funniest, most popular (and perhaps sweatiest!) comedians in the world, has extended his UK 'Roadrunner' tour for 2011.
Taking his new show 'Roadrunner' to the biggest arenas in the country, Lee Evans will play a string of dates in August, September, October and November 2011. The funnyman has today added another London O2 Arena show to the busy tour schedule.
The comedian, whose very animated act involves a lot of falling over, manic laughing and buckets of sweat, is regarded as one of Britain's most popular comedians. Entering the world of showbiz at an early age, Evans' father Dave still performs at clubs to this day. Speaking about his upbringing, Lee Evans said, "My brother and I grew up in digs, theatres and clubs. We used to sit in the back of the car or be stuck backstage taking to dancers while Dad was doing his act."
Following in his father's footsteps seems to have paid off for the funnyman who has since been the recipient of a variety of awards as well as breaking world records for a solo act performing to the biggest comedy audience (10,108 at Manchester's MEN Arena in 2005).
In addition to his stand-up career, Lee Evans has also had the nation in hysterics with some superb acting roles. Not only has the comedian featured in hugely successful films such as 'There's Something About Mary', Evans has also appeared on stage in London's West End with the production of 'The Producers'.
The 2011 'Roadrunner' Tour follows on from Lee Evans' Autumn 2008 'Big' Tour which was immortalised on DVD and went on to become the best selling comedy DVD in Britain at Christmas 2008. The sold-out tour saw Evans perform in front of over 500,000 people on 59 dates.
