Guitar legend Slash has begun work on a follow-up to last year’s eponymous debut solo album, it has been revealed.
The ex-Guns N Roses man has apparently been writing and arranging songs with Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy, whom he worked with multiple times on his previous album, as well as Canadian musicians Brent Fitz and Todd Kerns. The four will be heading into the studio to record soon, so fans won’t be left waiting too long for a new Slash album – the man himself says they’re already nine tracks in...
“We actually haven’t started recording,” Slash said, “but we’ve been in pre-production, We’re about nine songs in, as far as that goes. And when I get back from England tomorrow, we’ll go in and do another 12 songs. And we start actually recording late October.
“This is a record with Myles singing in the entire thing. And also Brent Fitz’s playing drums and Todd Kerns is playing bass.”
The record is most likely to be finished by early on in 2012 – check back to Stereoboard for more Slash album news.
