After choosing to shoot their music video in Bangor, County Down, Rihanna and Calvin Harris thought they had found the ideal location to shoot a sultry and raunchy music video – until a local farmer turned up and deemed it “inappropriate.”
The Barbados-born singer appears on Calvin Harris’ new single ‘We Found Love’, and was out in the Northern Ireland city to film the promotional video for it. After ringing ahead, the star and the studio team took to the farmer’s field, where Rihanna posed for sexy shots in red underwear.
But, when the farmer, who admitted he had no idea who Rihanna was when they management had rung up to schedule the use of the field, saw Rihanna going topless, he decided to intervene.
“I thought it was inappropriate,” said Alan Graham, owner of the fields. “I requested them to stop and they did. I had my conversation with Rihanna and I hope she understands where I'm coming from. We shook hands.
“I didn't know who was coming. If the name 'Rihanna' had been mentioned, well, no disrespect, but it wouldn't have meant anything. From my point of view, it was my land, I have an ethos and I felt it was inappropriate.
“I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends. Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God.”
