Star soul singer Adele has received surgery in the US to help the on-going throat problem that caused her to cancel every remaining live date she had this year.
The ‘Chasing Pavements’ artist is currently staying in Massachusetts General Hospital after receiving laser microsurgery to heal a benign polyp which repeatedly starts bleeding. Her record label XL Records have been furiously denying speculation that Adele was receiving surgery to help mend a haemorrhaged vocal chord – with the singer having already rubbished rumours that she is suffering from throat cancer.
The poorly star has had a tough year for cancellations, after her original throat injury caused her to cancel some UK shows before she was forced to pull her whole US stint. It’s now been confirmed by Adele that she won’t be performing until at least 2012.
In other Adele news, the producer for new James Bond flick Skyfall has categorically denied that Adele has been cast on to sing the new Bond theme tune – and instead told press that they hadn’t officially signed anyone yet.
“We've been considering several people but we haven't got anyone to announce at this stage,” the producer revealed.
