Muse fans can relax, step back from the cliff edge, put the guns down and stop writing their suicide note – Muse are not breaking up! I repeat, Muse are not breaking up!
After a hoax mock-up of an NME.com webpage got tweeted on the band's official twitter page, rumours spread like wild fire across the wires around the world.
The reason for their "supposed break-up" was nothing more than a bitter dispute between the trio.
A representative from the band has spoken out and cleared the whole situation up by clarifying that the band are in fact still together.
While they have taken a short break to allow singer Matt Bellamy to embrace fatherhood, the group have already got the ball rolling on their sixth studio album due to be released in late 2012.
