Leslie Carter, sister of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and solo singer Aaron Carter, died because of a prescription drug overdose according to a police report.
The 25 year-old American pop singer’s body was found in her father’s home on January 31st, next to boxes and packages of prescription drugs – which the police reported as Olanzapine, cyclobenzaprine (a muscle relaxer), and Xanax. The drugs are reportedly used to treat Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and anxiety problems.
While the reports currently suggest a drug overdose, a full autopsy is under-way to find the exact cause of death in the star, after an initial autopsy was found to be inconclusive – though it had been known she had been struggling with an addiction to prescription drugs prior to her death.
Leslie’s career included one unreleased album (‘Like Wow!’), and a couple of singles – including her single ‘Like Wow!’ which featured on Disney Pixar’s hit Shrek. She had also previously formed a band called ‘The Other Half’, but they split in 2009. She was famed for her appearances on the ‘The House of Carters’, a reality show based on their family.
