Frontman Damon Albarn and guitarist Graham Coxon last night unveiled a brand new Blur track while performing in London last night – giving fans a preview of what a new album, which Coxon has promised will ’definitely’ be recorded, could sound like.
The new track, which is apparently titled ‘Under the Westway’, was performed at War Child’s pre-BRIT Awards party, and was the first new Blur material to hit fans’ ears since 2010’s Record Store Day track ‘Fool’s Day’.
The pair used ‘Under The Westway’ to close their set at the party, and introduced it as something which was ‘written up the road from here a few weeks ago’, before adding: “It's got a lot of words - for me anyway - but not as many as Ed Sheeran has.” Have a listen to 'Under The Westway' below.
The iconic Brit-pop rockers will be picking up the Outstanding Contribution to Music gong at the BRIT Awards ceremony tomorrow night, and will be performing as a four-piece for the first time since T in the Park in 2009.
