Eccentric pop superstar Lady Gaga has added another date to her Born This Way Ball World Tour this morning, confirming that she’ll be performing in the Indonesian city of Jakarta.
Gaga will perform in the capital city’s Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on the Asian leg of the world tour, which is in support of her latest LP offering ‘Born This Way’, and will take place on June 3rd – preceding the first Australasian date by just a couple of days. The Jakarta Globe quoted a ‘news release’ as saying: “After much rumors and anticipation, Big Daddy Live Concerts is proud to announce the coming of Lady Gaga’s The Born This Way Ball to Jakarta. The public demand and media response in Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia and New Zealand have been phenomenal and unprecedented. Demand has been so overwhelming that additional shows have had to be added in almost all cities.”
In other Gaga news, fans in Hong Kong are reportedly very upset after tickets for her May 2nd and 3rd shows sold-out within 90 minutes of going onsale – leaving some, who even camped overnight, without passes to see their favourite singer live at rare appearances in the Chinese city.
Yahoo! has said that people may have even queued for up to two or three days without managing to get their hands on a pair of tickets, with other reports suggesting that fans are paying touts up to $4000 (£2525) for ‘black market tickets’. Police were also apparently called in to deal with ‘scuffles and allegations of queue-jumping’.
