Olly Murs Confirmed As Special Guest On One Direction's First American Tour

Earlier this month Stereoboard reported that Olly Murs looked set to quit 'The Xtra Factor' to join One Direction on their US tour. Today it has been confirmed that Olly is to perform nineteen shows as a special guest on the One Direction tour in the US and Canada this summer. He will join the tour after he has played Soccer Aid on May 27th and will play nineteen dates of the twenty-seven-date tour. Whether or not he is to leave 'The Xtra Factor' to allow him time to tour, remains uncertain.
Olly is to launch his music for the first time stateside this summer too, with a release date to be announced. Olly’s current album ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ went straight to Number One in the UK when it was released in November. It has since been certified double platinum. Both singles from the album, ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ and ‘Dance With Me Tonight’, have reached Number One.
Olly played a sold out arena tour in the UK earlier this year, including two nights at London’s O2 Arena. He will release new UK single 'Oh My Goodness' on 1st April.
