Superstar rapper Snoop Dogg has apparently announced that he’s making a reggae album alongside DJ, producer and songwriter Diplo.
Diplo is renowned for his eclectic selection of tracks, having produced almost every genre under the sun – from releasing house, electro and dubstep tracks to working with stars like M.I.A (on ‘Paper Planes’) and Beyoncé. Now, he’s set to release a reggae album with the Dogg himself - and, MTV reports that the new material is sounding great already, with Diplo describing the material as ‘fucking awesome’.
“Snoop Dogg is an icon, man; he's bigger than the music,” Diplo told MTV news. “What we're doing is a reggae record. It's like Snoop Dogg and Major Lazer together. It's all reggae and he's singing and he's doing a fucking awesome job and I never knew it, but he had his heart in every song. We're going to get back into the production of it next month, and I'm really proud of that record. It's the first record I've ever executive-produced and his crew is amazing.”
If you’re a fan of Snoop, you can catch him in London’s Hammersmith Apollo this April 11th. If you need tickets, check the dates and details below.
