Canadian rockers Rush have announced that they'll play their first music festival for over 35 years later this year, after signing up to headline Sweden Rock Festival in June.
The band, have slowly returned to their best after after a brief hiatus at the beginning of the millennium and will now perform at a festival for first time in almost 40 years. The gig will come just over a week after the conclusion of their UK tour, which sees them performing in a handful of arenas across the country.
Rush have been at the forefront of the hard rock scene since the 1970s. Their eponymous debut record hit shelves in 1974, but it was their album 'Permanent Waves' that saw them achieve more of a mainstream success. Since then, they've been a household name for any self-respecting rocker.
Fast forward to now, and you'll still find frontman Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer Neil Peart in the studio or on tour. They'll be releasing their 20th studio album 'Clockwork Angels' in June, and will perform in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, and Glasgow to celebrate.
