Damnation Festival Completes Line-Up

Earlier this month we made a big deal out of how you should all be heading along to this year’s Damnation Festival at Leeds University on 3rd November, largely because of the spectacular line-up. Well, with the opening bands for all three of the stages now confirmed, we can only reiterate that point as things have, predictably, only got better.

Of particular note should be Jagermeister Stage openers Hawk Eyes. The Leeds quartet (formerly known as Chickenhawk) dropped one of the albums of the year a few months back with a sumptuous collection of alt-metal anthems called 'Ideas'. If you are as of yet unfamiliar with it then make sure you are familiar in time for Damnation, as its creators will be an undoubted highlight of the day. Those who want something a little more extreme, meanwhile, will be pleased to know that Northampton grindcore merchants The Atrocity Exhibit will be preparing the Terrorizer Stage for a day of sonic violence. As regular attendees of the festival themselves, the band are very much up for putting on a great show. Finally, Raven’s Creed will be bringing their thrash metal riffs out in force to open the Eyesore Stage, declaring "Our collective bosom swells with barbaric rectitude, we look forward to discharging thirty minutes of fetid death-thrash right in the face of the Northern quarter, no one at the venue may look Al in the eye!”

These three bands join a line-up already comprising some of the best metal bands around, including stage headliners Electric Wizard, Pig Destroyer and Amenra alongside the likes of My Dying Bride, Primordial, Maybeshewill, Devil Sold His Soul and 40 Watt Sun.

Tickets for Damnation are ludicrously still on sale (honestly, did nobody actually read my preview?) for the very cheap price of £32. Click Here to Compare & Buy Damnation Festival Tickets. The event takes place on 3rd November at Leeds University Students Union. For more information visit www.damnationfestival.co.uk
