American alt-rockers Yo La Tengo have confirmed four UK tour dates this week, which will follow a brand new studio album due out in January 2013.
The New Jersey trio are ready to return next year with their first new album since 2009’s ‘Popular Songs’ - their 12th studio record - and will perform at least four March 2013 UK tour dates, with the potential for more to be added in the near future too.
The band will appear in London’s Barbican on March 20th, before heading to Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin for three more gigs. Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday (November 2nd) at 9am - you can find yours through Stereoboard using the dates and links below.
Yo La Tengo formed back in 1984 and, despite a lack of massive commercial success, have maintained a cult following for the past 25 years which has helped them perform all over the world. Despite the band being around so long, they’ve managed to maintain the same line-up - guitarist and frontman Ira Kaplan, drummer Georgia Hubley, and bass player James McNew - since 1992.
With 12 studio albums under their belt and a 13th on the way, the band’s four 2013 UK shows are set to be classics - so if you’re a fan, don’t miss out. You can check the full dates and details below.
Wed March 20th 2013 - Barbican, London
Thu March 21st 2013 - HMV Ritz, Manchester
Fri March 22nd 2013 - O2 ABC, Glasgow
Sat March 23rd 2013 - Vicar Street, Dublin
