Kasabian guitarist Sergio Pizzorno may have to apologise to Glastonbury organisers this week - after seemingly confirming that The Rolling Stones would be performing at Glastonbury Festival this year.
The alternative rock outfit were announced as one of the headline acts for this year’s Hard Rock Calling - an event which takes place on the same weekend of Glastonbury’s return. Talking about the London gig, he said that he hoped his band’s performance would be the talk of the weekend - but added that it would be a difficult task considering that ‘The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury’!
Speaking to MTV, Pizzorno said: “I hope ours is the most talked about performance of the weekend, but that would be a miracle because The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury.”
He continued on to talk about Hard Rock Calling itself, saying: “It came as a bit of a shock because we were planning on not doing anything this year. It's nice because we'll be christening the Olympic Park and we're playing with Paul Weller and Miles Kane, so it's gonna be a great Saturday night.”
As usual, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation that the band will be playing, but Pizzorno’s comments could very well mean that The Rolling Stones are performing at the festival - and they’ve been rumoured to since their comeback last year. What do you think? Let us know in the comment box below.
