The latest in a series of moves will find the festival staged across four warehouses and a 10-acre outdoor space at Meridian Water in Enfield on June 7 and 8. Pre-sale tickets go on sale at 9am on November 23.
Previously, the two day event took over Brockwell Park in south London, having shifted from its previous stomping ground at Victoria Park for the 2018 edition.
Due to its location, at a former gas works near the Tottenham Marshes, organisers boast that this year's festival will be able to run later than any other in London, and that it will host its biggest line up to date. Field Day director Luke Huxham said:
“2019 will mark the start of a new chapter for Field Day and a completely new type of festival for London. This new site will allow us to break down the restrictions that London festivals are normally faced with and deliver an unrivalled experience. It's hugely exciting to be working with such a pioneering council, who support our ideas and are focused on creating a new cultural hub for London. We can't wait to unveil more of our plans in the coming weeks.”
Councillor Nesil Caliskan, leader of Enfield Council, added:
“Enfield Council is hugely ambitious for Meridian Water - a major £6bn, 20-year London regeneration programme led by Enfield Council, which will bring 10,000 homes and thousands of jobs to Enfield, north London. Meridian Water will be a truly vibrant neighbourhood and new destination to enjoy nightlife, music, theatre, cinema and much more, all year round. Bringing the sheds back into use to deliver high quality leisure, arts and cultural facilities and events is part of our drive to bring life and activity into the area and create a new 24-hour London destination. It also reflects the Council’s commitment to pursue meanwhile use for some sites on Meridian Water so that we generate income for the Council.”
