The rapper's first release since 2018’s breakout album ‘TA13OO’, Ricky is a rhythmic and powerful track that delves deep into Curry’s Miami childhood, and takes a look at some of the wisdom that his father, the song’s namesake, passed down.
“My Daddy said trust no man but your brothers, and never leave your day ones in the gutter,” raps Curry. He also quips: “Ricky said never let nobody get the one-up on you, if they run up on you, hit ‘em with a one-two.”
Its accompanying video, directed by Twelve'len, sees Curry get into an organised brawl in the backyard of MMA legend Dada 5000, as well as cruising and smoking in his whip.
