Green Day, Fall Out Boy And Weezer Announce UK And Ireland Stadium Shows For Hella Mega Tour

Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer are to play four huge shows in the UK and Ireland in summer 2020.
The announcement of the Hella Mega Tour follows Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s recent online teasers, with the pop-punk show of the decade set to hit Glasgow Green on June 24, London Stadium on June 26, Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium on June 27 and Dublin’s RDS Arena on June 29.
The Interrupters will provide support on the mammoth tour, which is also set to travel to mainland Europe and North America. Tickets go on general sale starting at 10am local time on September 20. Speaking about the trek on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, Armstrong said:
"It’s kind of a Green Day idea. And we talked about how we weren’t really wanting to do stadiums and do something that was like throwback to Monsters Of Rock Tour. There was, of course, Fall Out Boy and Weezer and now we’re stoked.
"It’s exciting, you know? But I mean I really kind of look forward to maybe actually putting out more music. I think just we finished our record contract… we’re free agents. So we’re just going to end up putting out more stuff. We’ll probably put out more stuff before the tour actually. And then I think not tour as long, but effective touring."
Alongside the tour news, Green Day have announced a new album, ’Father Of All...’, which is due out on February 7, 2020. Head below to check out the title track to the follow up to 2016's 'Revolution Radio'.
Meanwhile, Fall Out Boy put out ’Mania’ in January 2018 and have revealed 'Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die - Volume 2' is being released on November 15 — spin new track Dear Future Self (Hands Up) featuring Wyclef below.
Not to be left out, Weezer have also announced a new record. The follow up to 'The Black Album’ is called 'Van Weezer' and it's expected to arrive on May 15, 2020, though they've hinted it may drop sooner. The album's first single is The End Of The Game and, you guessed it, you can listen to it below.
UPDATE 23/01: The Glasgow show at Bellahouston Park on June 24 has been moved to Glasgow Green on the same day due to ongoing groundworks at the park. Head below for a full statement from Gigs In Scotland.
