Whoopi Goldberg To Star In New Sister Act Musical In London

Whoopi Goldberg has been announced for the new production of Sister Act The Musical.

The American actress will reprise her role as Deloris Van Cartier and will perform alongside Jennifer Saunders, who takes on the role of Mother Superior.

The musical follows the plot of the film of the same name, which finds Van Cartier being put in protective custody in a convent after witnessing a murder. While there she forges friendships with the nuns and gets very involved with the choir, to their benefit. 

The new production will take over London's Eventim Apollo for 39 performances between July 29 and August 30. Tickets are on sale now.
