Cardiff Festival Of Voice To Return In October Curated By Cate Le Bon

Wednesday, 19 February 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

Cardiff's Festival of Voice is set to return in October.

Welsh artist Cate Le Bon has been announced as both a performer and a guest curator for part of the Cardiff Bay event, which will become an annual four-day programme.

The full line up will be revealed in the summer, with over 60 acts set to perform. Previous acts that have played the event, which has been running every two years since 2016, include Patti Smith, Van Morrison, Gruff Rhys, Laura Marling and Elvis Costello. Announcing this year's new format, Wales Millennium Centre's Artistic Director, Graeme Farrow said:

"We’re thrilled that, as of this year, Festival of Voice will become an international centrepiece of Wales' annual calendar and of Cardiff’s commitment to placing music at the heart of the capital’s development. Festival of Voice is much more than a music festival; it’s an exploration of what the voice can do and how important it is to have one. Grab your wristband now and join us in October – it promises be an unforgettable long weekend."

The festival will follow the well establised Sŵn Festival, also in October, which showcases rising talent across various city centre venues.

Festival Of Voice Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Thu October 29 2020 - CARDIFF Wales Millennium Centre
