The Rolling Stones have released a new single.
Living In A Ghost Town recalls 1980s ska, while its lyrics and accompanying video are very much a commentary of the current state of affairs with regards to the lockdowns imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. "Life was so beautiful, then we all got locked down, feel a like ghost, living in a ghost town," sings Mick Jagger.
The clip, meanwhile, contains fisheye footage of desolote London and Los Angeles streets interpersed with scenes of the band in the studio. The track was recorded between the two cities in 2019, with the final touches taking place during this year's period of self-isolation.
The Rolling Stones were due to take their No Filter Tour back to North America this summer, but the dates had to be postponed due to COVID-19. Eager to perform, though, they took part in the One World: Together at Home livestream on April 18.
The legendary rock band put out their latest studio album, 'Blue & Lonesome', in 2016 and released the 'Bridges to Buenos Aires' live LP and concert film in 2019.
