Stormzy has released an animated video for his song Superheroes.
The empowering track features on the grime superstar's sophomore Mercury-nominated album, 'Heavy Is The Head', which landed in 2019.
The clip, meanwhile, was helmed by British director Taz Tron Delix and celebrates young black British stars. It premiered in a number of school classrooms earlier today (September 9) accompanied by a short inspirational speech from the 27-year-old:
"I wanted to show it to you guys first [because] being students at school, I think it’s important that you guys understand how powerful you are…"
"Despite the colour of your skin, despite where you come from, despite your religion, despite whatever it is that you feel may be holding you back; you are a Superhero. So, I wanted to make this video to inspire you guys, to let you know that the sky is the limit. To let you know that all those things inside of you, make you incredible."
Check it out below, and see if you can spot nods to the likes of Dave, Little Simz, and Manchester United and England star Marcus Rashford. There's also a tribute to the late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman.
The ongoing concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic caused Stormzy to reschedule the UK and Ireland leg of his H.I.T.H. World Tour to April 2021. Tickets remain valid.
