Jack Savoretti, Declan McKenna, Kaiser Chiefs Shows At Virgin Money Unity Arena Cancelled

Thursday, 17 September 2020 Written by Laura Johnson

The last three shows in the Virgin Money Unity Arena series have been cancelled.

Jack Savoretti was due to perform tomorrow (September 18), Kaiser Chiefs the next day followed by a Bongo's Bingo closing party, and Declan McKenna was due to play the final show on September 20 with support from the Lathums, Mosa Wild, Aaron Taylor, Dylan, and Andrew Cushin.

However, due to local lockdown measures being introduced in the North East because of the coronavirus pandemic the concerts will not go ahead. The Chase and Status show scheduled for tonight is unaffected and will bring the series to an abrupt close.

The Virgin Money Unity Arena, located at Gosforth Park in Newcastle, has been hosting socially distanced gigs since August 13, when it opened with a pair of shows from local boy Sam Fender. The events operated a drive-in system, allowing people from the same household to watch the gig from a personal viewing platform.
