Following Headstart, Houdini serves as the second preview of the Hexham-born artist's forthcoming sophomore LP, due out in 2021 via Glassnote Records, though further specifics are still to be revealed.
The delicate, acoustic guitar-driven track was recorded at RCA Studios with producer Dave Cobb. In a statement accompanying the song, she said:
"I’ve loved the word/concept for a really long time. All of a sudden, it seemed to be the perfect metaphor for the figures who had left my life in the past. I had no control or choice on their appearances and disappearances - sort of like the man himself."
The 23-year-old, who released her self-titled debut album in 2019, will perform at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in March, with remaining tickets on sale now.
