Bastille have released a new single, Distorted Light Beam.
The dance-pop track was co-written and co-produced with Grammy-winner Ryan Tedder and Mark Crew, the band’s long-time collaborator. Frontman Dan Smith said:
“For us, ‘Distorted Light Beam’ soundtracks dancing through some twisted, euphoric, futuristic club space. It’s a song about limitless possibilities—which isn’t something any of us actually have in real life right now, so it’s been fun to explore that idea while experimenting with new sounds in our music.”
The song is the first to be shared from the quartet's fourth album, the follow-up to 2019's 'Doom Days', which is due out later this year.
The song is accompanied by a cinematic video starring frontman Dan Smith alongside British actress Remmie Milner from the BAFTA-winning series Save Me.
Bastille will take their ReOrchestrated show to the rescheduled Hampton Court Palace Festival in London this August. Tickets are on sale now.
