Fatherson Set February Release For New Album 'Normal Fears', Share New Song And Spring Tour Dates

Fatherson are back with details of their first album in three years.
The follow-up to 2018's 'Sum Of All Your Parts' is called 'Normal Fears' and will arrive on February 22 via Easy Life. They've also dropped the latest preview of the record, Normal People, which leans into their new melodic alt-pop direction and follows October's single End Of The World. Vocalist Ross Leighton said:
"Our aim was to drop our guard. Forget what we thought we knew about making music and just have fun. It was less about searching for a sound than trying out new ways of working. We were open to anything. Luckily, lockdown was ideal for this album. The separation gave us clarity. We’d send song parts to each other then each go away and work on them, trying out mad ideas we might not have suggested had we all been together.
"There was no pressure because no one knew when the world would open up again. We had the time to be creative and recapture the feeling we had when we first became a band, when there were no expectations of how Fatherson should sound."
Along with the announcement, the Glasgow trio have unveiled a short film called Same Old, Brand New, capturing live session footage of them performing tracks from their previous LPs. The band explained:
“We wanted to do something special to announce our new album. The idea was to create something that could be shared all over the world, a celebration of the new music we’ve created with a nod to what has come before. Same Old, Brand New is just that. A collection of exclusive live performances presented as a short film that explores some of the concepts around the album and the world in general."
They'll support 'Normal Fears' with newly revealed UK tour dates in March. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on November 26.
