The Chainsmokers are back with their first new music in two years.
High was co-written by the Grammy Award-winning duo with Ethan Snorek Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Jeff Halavacs, Natalie Salomon and Nick Long, with the latter also co-producing the track with the pair alongside Whethan.
The rock-leaning dance-pop song offers up an earworm chorus and lyrics about how addiction impacts a relationship. It's the first taste of their fourth album, the follow-up to 2019's 'World War Joy', though no further details have been confirmed. They said:
"The song perfectly captures the spirit of today's relationships, the lengths we will go for someone we love, and the lies we tell ourselves to continue on unhappily. However, underlying these dark and often contentious lyrics is a production that feels celebratory because we all know at the end of the day, we never listen to advice, we do what feels best for ourselves and keep telling ourselves it will be different this time.”
Alex Pall and Drew Taggart will perform the single live for the first time during the Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game Halftime Show on January 30 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The Chainsmokers will return to the UK this spring for two shows at the O2 Academy Brixton in London as part of their rescheduled European tour.
The Chainsmokers Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows
Thu April 14 2022 - LONDON O2 Academy Brixton
