UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro have shared a new single.
The bright and upbeat We'll Never Find Another Love premiered on Zoe Ball's Breakfast Show on Radio 2 earlier today (May 3). It'll appear on the upcoming album, 'Unprecedented', due out on June 17 via UMC.
The follow-up to 2018's 'A Real Labour Of Love' was recorded before the death of Astro, real name Terence Wilson, in November 2021 after a short illness. Campbell commented on the multi-instrumentalist:
"Astro's death came as such a shock, and I'm still reeling from it. This album is now more poignant and special than either of us could have imagined when we were recording it. Astro heartbreakingly passed just two weeks after we'd finished the final mixes, so this is a way of keeping his memory alive."
The record boasts several new songs, along with covers of reggae classics and popular hits, including East 17's Stay Another Day, Kris Kristofferson's Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down', and Stevie Wonder's Do Yourself A Favour.
UB40 featuring Ali Campbell have a number of performances lined up for the summer, including appearances at Blenheim Palace as part of Nocturne Live, and Hampton Court Palace Festival.
