'Pre Pleasure' will arrive on August 26 via Transgressive Records, following up the Australian singer-songwriter's 2019 LP 'Crushing'. It was recorded in Montreal with co-producer Marcus Paquin and Jacklin's bandmates, with Owen Pallett writing string arrangements which were recorded by an orchestra in Prague.
Jacklin has also unveiled the record's cinematic lead single and opener, Lydia Wears A Cross, which is led by a mix of piano and programmed percussion, building through synths and spiralling, distorted guitars. In a statement, she said:
"The song is about a lot of things but mainly being a 7yr old Jesus Christ superstar fanatic attending catholic school trying to figure out which way is up. The music video was filmed by my constant collaborator and friend Nick Mckk at Splitpoint lighthouse. I played a show close by recently and asked on stage if anyone could let me film inside. Someone in the crowd knew a guy and that was it. The rest was filmed in the streets of Northcote, Melbourne."
Jacklin has also mapped out a world tour, which includes UK and Ireland gigs in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton and London during November. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on May 19.
