Hell On Earth is their first new material since 2020, when they released their fourth album 'Sad Happy', and is said to mark the beginning of a new era for the Liverpool band. Frontman Kieran Shudall said:
"'Hell On Earth' is about the world moving so fast around you you’re struggling to keep up. Record stores closing, politicians lying more than ever, social anxiety at its highest level and that general feeling some days that everything is going wrong."
The danceable indie-rock song has a jaunty energy that contrasts its candid commentary on the state of society since the COVID-19 lockdowns. Its accompanying video will premiere at 7pm BST today (August 18).
The quartet have already had a busy summer of festival appearances, but still have upcoming main stage sets at this year's Reading and Leeds, which they'll warm up for with an intimate show at The Sugarmill in Stoke-on-Trent on August 25.
