Richard Dawson has announced his seventh studio album.
Due on November 18 via Weird World, 'The Ruby Cord' comprises seven tracks and is billed as the final part of a trilogy of records that includes 2017's 'Peasant' and 2019's '2020'. In a statement about the futuristic concept of the LP, Dawson said:
"So many of us are moving into these fantasy worlds. Whether it's actual constructed virtual realities, computer worlds, or retreating into even more fantastical realms... conspiracy theories, nationalism, amateur football punditry. People construct their own world because this one is so flawed."
Dawson has revealed that the album's epic opening track The Hermit, which spans 40 minutes, will arrive with an accompanying short film by director James Hamkins. Check out a trailer for it below.
The song and film will be premiered at several cinemas and art spaces across the UK with Q&A sessions after each screening. Head here for details.
'The Ruby Chord' tracklist:
1. The Hermit
2. Thicker Than Water
3. The Fool
4. Museum
5. The Tip of an Arrow
