Slowthai will release his third album this spring.

The follow-up to 2021's 'TYRON' is called 'UGLY', with the letters standing for 'U Gotta Love Yourself'. It'll arrive through Method Records on March 3, and feature musicians Ethan P. Flynn, Jockstrap’s Taylor Skye, Beabadoobee guitarist Jacob Bugden, drummer Liam Toon, and Fontaines D.C. on the title track

Produced by Dan Carey at his home studio in South London, the record is previewed by the dark, pounding first single Selfish, which is anchored by a driving punky bassline. Slowthai said:

"It doesn’t matter what or who people think you are, you’ve just got to stay true and respect yourself. I have UGLY tattooed on my face because it’s a reminder to love myself, rather than put myself down constantly or feel the impression people have of me should determine who I am as a person. At the end of the day, the art I make is for myself, and the music I make is for myself, if I enjoy it then who gives a fuck. So, the way I should live my life should be without any expectations of anyone else. I think it's something that we all need to hear because everyone needs a smile, and everyone needs a bit of joy and you need to look in yourself to really feel it because no one else can give you the real feeling."

Additionally, today (January 25) fans can tune into a livestream showing the Northampton rapper in a custom-built two-way mirrored room where he’ll spend the day with himself: "As an exercise of patience and self reflection, Slowthai attempts to spend 24 hours in a mirrored box. With just paint, paper and nothing to look at but himself." Take a look below.

Slowthai will play UK and European festivals this summer, including Reading and Leeds. He'll also open for Blur at the band's huge comeback shows at London's Wembley Stadium in July.
