The Staves have returned with a new single called You Held It All.
Recorded with producer John Congleton in Los Angeles, the climactic folk track marks their first new music since their 2021 LP 'Good Woman', and is also their first release without their previous member, their sister Emily Staveley-Taylor.
Offering the band's signature vocal harmonies, it also serves as the start of the duo's new chapter on Communion Records. Remaining sisters Jess and Millie commented:
"You Held It All is a song about understanding, and the knots we tie ourselves in when we don’t express our truth; and how much power and freedom there can be when we do."
The Staves will appear at the fifth edition of Llais international arts festival, formerly known as the Festival Of Voice, which returns to Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff between October 11 to 15. Following that, they'll headline Brighton's Mutations Festival in November.
