The Lemonheads have shared a new single, Fear Of Living.
The country-inspired, jangly power-pop track was penned by band leader Evan Dando and Dan Lardner of the bands QTY and Grand Rapids, who passed away in June.
It finds Dando singing in a lower vocal tone over a guitar-led instrumental played entirely by the frontman. It was recorded and produced by Apollo Nove at A9 Audio in São Paulo, Brazil. Dando commented:
"I met with Dan in 2022, he sent me Fear Of Living, I added some riffs and things, and he said he liked it. I shall miss you, Dear Prince, ever the most dignified person in the room."
It marks the American alt-rock band's first new music since their 2019 covers album 'Varshons II'. Dando is currently working in São Paulo on the first album of original songs from The Lemonheads since their 2006 self-titled LP.
They'll close out 2023 with a three-show run in Evanston, Illinois. Dando, meanwhile, will tour North America with Willy Mason in February and March.
