Squid and Georgia Ruth Among New Acts Confirmed For Cardiff's Llais Festival

New acts have been announced for this year's Llais festival.

The event will take place at Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay between October 9 and 13, as part of the three-week Cardiff Music City Festival, supported by the Welsh Government and Cardiff Council.

Among the new acts confirmed for the line-up are Squid and Geordie Greep (Black Midi), Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, and Georgia Ruth. They join the previously announced Cate Le Bon, who will launch her seventh studio album, and Joan As Police Woman, who will make a rare live appearance to play songs from her forthcoming new record, among others.

What? A multi-day arts festival presenting a programme of both free and ticketed events, live music, digital experiences, free workshops, and playful experiences dedicated to the instrument that we all share, the voice.

Where? Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay.

When? October 9 to 13.

Who? The second wave of acts and events includes Squid and Geordie Greep (Black Midi), Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, Georgia Ruth, Lock Off, If I Could Only Remember My Name: The Music Of David Crosby (With Mike Scott, Liam Ó Maonlai, The Staves and Kris Drever), Lisa O’Neill, The Breath, Porridge Radio, Bombino, Blacksabbathmode, Fabiana Palladino, Rogue Jones, Joe Boyd reading from his book And The Roots Of Rhythm Remain - A Journey Through Global Music, and Fantastic Racket: A Showcase Of Iconic Voices From Across Literature, Music, Film & Art, 

The first acts to be announced for the event were Cate Le Bon, Joan As Police Woman, Ganavya, Sahra Halgan, Sweet Honey In The Rock, Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Gwen Siôn: Llwch A Llechi, Le Gateau Chocolat: Spirituals, Lleuwen Steffan: Tafod Arian, Colored: The Unsung Life Of Claudette Colvin, and more.

A Celebration of Bay Jazz will take place as part of the Butetown Bay Jazz Heritage Festival, which returns after a 12-year absence to celebrate its 15th anniversary. The Welsh Music Prize will also feature as part of this year's festival.

Tickets? Tickets are on sale now. Festival goers can buy tickets for two shows and receive 10% off their order, or 15% off when they buy tickets to three or more events.
