Jon Hopkins has shared a second preview of his upcoming album, 'Ritual'.
Following the previously shared Ritual (Evocation), the electronic producer and musician has unveiled the atmospheric Ritual (Palace), an evolving, pulsating electronic soundscape that opens the melodic core of the continuous 41-minute composition. Hopkins commented:
"In 2022, I was commissioned to compose for a project called Dreamachine* - a beautiful immersive experience created by a team of artists, scientists, and philosophers, which was experienced by tens of thousands of people throughout 2022 and beyond as it continues to tour. Ritual (Palace) is an evolution of the music I composed for that project. I am so grateful to all those involved."
Segmented into eight chapters, the epic project is described as a kinetic counterpart to 2021's 'Music For Psychedelic Therapy' and will arrive on August 30.
A listening event will take place at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts this Saturday (July 13). His diary will also see him headline UK festivals Junction 2 later in July and Green Man in August, as well as playing headline shows in Brighton and Bristol on July 25 and 26, respectively.
Jon Hopkins Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows
Thu July 25 2024 - BRIGHTON Corn Exchange Brighton
Fri July 26 2024 - BRISTOL Beacon
