André 3000 has announced two new London shows for next month.
The Outkast rapper/singer turned flautist has scheduled one early show and one late show at the intimate Jazz Cafe on August 16. Billed as New Blue Sun Live In Concert, both gigs will also feature Carlo Nino, Nate Mercereau and Surya Botofasina with Deantoni Parks. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (August 2).
Last November, the nine-time Grammy-winning artist released his latest album, 'New Blue Sun', an 87-minute collection of minimalist, experimental songs performed with wind instruments, in place of any beats, bars or singing.
Outkast's final studio album was 2006's 'Idlewild'. Since then, alongside a career in acting, the Atlanta native's output has consisted of occasional guest spots on other artists' tracks and two solo songs, Look Ma No Hands and Me&My (To Bury Your Parents).
The Jazz Cafe concerts will take place the day before he supports Loyle Carner at All Points East at London's Victoria Park.
NEW // Taking a new direction with his solo album 'New Blue Sun' last year, 9x Grammy-winning artist André 3000 has announced a pair of VERY special, intimate shows on August 16, ahead of his performance at @allpointseastuk that weekend.
